CLARINGTON — At the Courtice Community Complex on Orange Shirt Day — Monday, Sept. 30 — representatives from the Bawaajigewin Aboriginal Community Circle educated visitors about the thousands of First Nations, Métis and Inuit children who were removed from their homes and forced to attend residential schools. Orange Shirt Day is a national day to focus on healing and reconciliation in response to Residential Schools and the impacts on Indigenous Peoples.

  • September 23 between 10 am and 1 pm Region of Durham Headquarters 605 Rossland Rd E, Whitby, ON L1N 6A3
  • September 26 between 10 and 1:30 at Oshawa Market City Hall (50 Centre Street South)
  • September 30 between 2:30 and 4 pm.  The Art Resource Centre Oshawa, (45 Queen St, Oshawa)
