  • Explore emergency preparedness through the lens of Indigenous food sovereignty and climate justice. The presentation will consider risks, vulnerabilities and the social and ecological considerations for increasing the agency of the Urban and Away from Home (UAH) Indigenous community in Vancouver’s downtown east side to respond to their own needs for food in times of multiple overlapping crises. The presentation will highlight some important considerations for risk management, mitigation and characteristics of resiliency in Indigenous Peoples food systems.
