Colouring Contest

Submit your completed colouring artwork for a chance to win a $25.00 gift certificate from Curry’s Artist Materials located in Whitby.  All work will be displayed and entered into the random draw to be held on Friday, June 26, 2020. All submitted artwork will be displayed on this page for all to see.  Email your best one to (make sure you have your parents permission to enter the contest.)  info@bawaajigewin.ca

  • Patrick Hunter is an Ojibway artist/graphic designer from Red Lake, Ontario. At 17, Patrick sold his first painting, not thinking that it could turn it into a career. Fast forward 13 years later, Patrick has been running his own design business since 2014, creating all kinds of paintings and designs that have also been put onto and sold products all over the world!   • Nasuġraq Rainey Hopson is an Alaskan Native artist and writer. Hopson uploaded several plain copies of her line drawings to her Facebook page and made the post public. Since March 17, her post, with its 11 downloadable and printable drawings, has gotten more than 3,000 likes and been shared nearly 9,000 times.   • Norval Morrisseau (1931–2007) is considered by many to be the Mishomis, or grandfather, of contemporary Indigenous art in Canada. His life has been sensationalized in newspapers and documentaries while his unique artistic style has pushed the boundaries of visual storytelling. The creator of the Woodland School of art and a prominent member of the Indian Group of Seven, Morrisseau is best known for using bright colours and portraying traditional stories, spiritual themes, and political messages in his work.  Visit the
