Wiingushk Deyweygun Drum Group

My name is Troy White and I’m the Indigenous Community Facilitator here at Carea Community Health Centre in Oshawa. I am joined by Paul Zamiska as we are both here to represent the Wiingushk Deyweygun Big Drum (Sweetgrass Heartbeat Big Drum) which is one of the many great programs Carea provides for Durham Region’s First Nations, Metis and Inuit (FNMI) Population. Both Paul and I are also board members on Bawaajigewin Aboriginal Community Circle, Durham regions exclusive fully Indigenous organization. We are singing the A.I.M. Song also known as the Unity Song an Honour song for Indigenous People’s Day and Month. This song represents us FNMI peoples being strong, proud and united. We are presenting this in the medicine garden at Carea CHC located in Oshawa at 115 Grassmere Avenue.

Wela’lin / Miigwetch / Thank You
